"Health Equity Dialogue"
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed and widened disparities in healthcare,
emphasizing the urgent need for healthcare leaders and policymakers to address this global issue impacting public health. Disparities may occur due to failure to distinguish between genetic and social determinants of health, insufficient funding for research and treatment of diseases of smaller or poorer populations, and inadequate representation of minorities in patient recruitment. Collaboration among healthcare stakeholders, government, and community organizations is crucial to ensure equal access to healthcare for individuals and society.
